Light and Heavy

It's late. I should be in bed, but instead I sit here sad because another Sunday is almost over. (And yes, you'll be reading this on Monday, I know).

I did manage to read a couple books this weekend. The first one was called, The Chef's Choice, by Kirstin Hardy. It was about Cady McBain and Damon Hurst. Damon is a chef (duh!) who comes to Cady's parents bed and breakfast to take over the restaurant. Cady is the groundskeeper who also has her own landscaping business.

Cady comes off as a hard woman at first until slowly Damon wins her over. Damon himself is a celebrity chef who is trying to escape the beating his reputation has taken. And quite a reputation it is.

I enjoyed the cooking parts of the book since I've missed Top Chef so much. This was one of those sweet Silhouette books that you can read in like an hour. It was definitely a nice little surprise.

The second book I read was Plain Truth, by Jodi Piccoult. Yeah, sweet wouldn't describe this book at all. But it was good. Really good. I stayed up until one in the morning Saturday night reading it. It's about a teenage Amish girl who is charged with murdering her baby. But nothing is ever as it seems on the surface.

I would definitely recommend this book. You can tell Jodi does her research. Now I want to buy more of her books. This is the second book I've read by her, and even though I was mad and frustrated with the last book (My Sister's Keeper), it was still a book that kept me guessing up to the last minute.

Those are the two books I read this weekend. Now I need to find a new book! It's been a long time since I had a reading jag like this!

I'm also working on an interview for this week, but if anyone knows any writers out there who might enjoy my interview style, please send them my way! Or if you want to be interviewed yourself because it might be fun, send me a email! Don't be shy... I need you! I can't interview myself all the time. ;)

Melly, I can't remember how on earth I found your blog, but I've been lurking via rss feed for a bit. Love the interviews and I'd love to be an interviewee sometime!
