Sunday and Monday's Check-in

Yes, I haven't been posting as much. For the last two days I have a total of 1,559. I should write some more tonight, but I'm too tired and I'm worried what I'm writing isn't up to snuff.

So instead of forcing more, I'm going to call it a night.

At least I am writing! And that's all I can ask for!

Still here...

I know I haven't checked in for awhile. I have to admit that Thursday and Friday I got off track. But today I got it back together and wrote 2,155 words. Not only that, but while taking a shower I got all the backstory straight for both my hero and heroine. I know about their childhoods and about their siblings and parents. Yes, I knew the basics when I was beginning, but I think I've mentioned before that my characters don't really come alive until I start writing. I'm definitely not one of those writers who can just write down a whole stats sheets and think I'm going to follow it. That's just not my style.

I was very excited though and as soon as I stepped out of the shower (and got dress first, of course), I ran downstairs and typed all of it up. This is the most inspired I've felt in a long time. I can see them now.

That doesn't mean I know exactly what's going to come next. I usually figure that out as I go. I know where they're going, but not how I'm going to get them there. But that's the fun part. Seeing what I can come up with. Sometimes it surprises even me.

Did I mention that I love writing?

Checking In

I'm checking in tonight with 1,089 words. Not my best, but considering the late start I had tonight, it's not bad.

My hero is taking me into a totally different direction than I was expecting him to. I'm excited about that because I love to see my characters come to life for me. It's easy to write down their stats-age, hair color, height, but giving them a personality is something that just comes from the writing.

He is a departure for me since he's more a beta male than a alpha one. Most of my heroes to date have been alpha all the way. But I think he's going to have hidden depths that readers are going to really appreciate.

That might also come as a surprise to some since most race car drivers are pretty alpha, but that's because he's not a race car driver. The heroine in this book is the only one with a racing connection.

Who is she? Well, you met her in Born to Run and that's all I'm going to say.

Now it's time to go to bed. I bought some new Dunkin' Donuts coffee tonight and I can't wait to wake up in the morning and try it! Buying different kinds of coffee is what keeps me going some times. Whatever it takes, huh?

Make you Sweat

I'm about ready to start sweating. I hope. I really want to succeed at this challenge. Which for me means turning off all instant messengers and the television as well.

AHH. That's like telling me not to breath. I can't do it! Can I? We'll see.

In other news, RFTS is getting clower and clower to publication. We're thinking a December date. That'll be nice. A warm beach book during the cold winter.

I also have to remember to post here each and every day to mark my progress.

I'm really going to need luck for this. :D

70 Days of Sweat

No, this is not a new workout program...even though I could prolly use one of those too. ;o) No, this is a writing challenge. Something I need since I've been in a rut with this WIP.

Between Monday, October 15 and Tuesday, January 15, the goal is to write 750 to 1500 words a day. And yes, when I first read this I thought they said pages. LOL 750 pages a day?? LOL I'm so blonde sometimes.

I'll be coming here to track my progress every day. Well, hopefully every day. LOL

Wish me luck!
