Beautiful morning until....

This morning I got out of bed, went downstairs and opened the window since it was a lovely cool morning. I turned on my computer while enjoying my first cup of coffee. The house was quiet since my guys were still asleep upstairs. Then suddenly I heard:

PSSSSSSSST.

Like the sound of a tire losing its air, but louder. My heart stopped. I looked around. What the hell was that? Everyone, including my dog, was upstairs.

What the hell???

Then I remembered. Last night my husband bought home an Air Wick, Fresh-Matic. The Ultra version (as opposed to...?). According to its box: "AIR WICK FRESHMATIC ULTRA Automatic Spray. You can set it to spray light fragrance every 9, 18, or 36 minutes for constant freshness..." A spray that just happens to sound like the air brakes on a tractor trailer. Well, in the silence of my house it does.

And what's with the increment of minutes? 9, 18 or 36? Couldn't they have just rounded that up to 10, 20 and 40?

Actually, it's kind of disconcerting in a way. Here's this little machine that can just decide when you stink and let out a little fart of freshness when it wants to.

My husband must have it at 18 minutes, because I've heard it a couple more times and each time it startles me. He got it in lavender which, according their site, is supposed to be relaxing. Sure, I'm always relaxed when some machine is shooting a stream of flower scented spray at me.

If you'd like your own flower farting machine, here is the link: http://www.airwick.us/flash_sniffer.html

Don't ask me why the link says "flash sniffer". I don't even want to know...
